Privacy policy

The short version

Monthly Mortgage Calculator runs entirely in your browser. The loan details you enter — home price, down payment, rate, taxes, insurance, and so on — are never sent to us or stored on any server. We don't require an account, and we don't sell data because we don't collect it.

Information you enter

All calculations happen locally on your device. The values you type into the calculator stay in your browser. We have no ability to see them.

When you use the "Share" feature, your inputs are encoded into the link itself (in the URL). That link contains your numbers, so anyone you send it to — or any service you paste it into — can see those values. Share links only where you're comfortable with the recipient seeing your figures.

Cookies and local storage

The core calculator does not require cookies to function. If we store anything on your device (such as a preference), it stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Server logs and hosting

Our site is served as static files by our hosting provider. Like most web hosts, the provider may automatically log standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security and reliability. We do not use this information to identify you, and it is not linked to the numbers you enter in the calculator.

Analytics

If we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage, that data is anonymized and never includes the loan figures you enter. It is used only to improve the tool.

Third-party links

Our site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Children's privacy

This tool is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
